Share Warmth and Comfort: Calling All Crafters!
We have a wonderful opportunity to bless cancer patients in Western North Carolina through our love of crafting. The North Carolina Mountain State Fair is seeking volunteers to provide chemo caps, lap quilts, and afghans for those undergoing treatment.
Since 2024, caring individuals in our region have donated nearly 3,000 caps and over 260 lap quilts! Let's join together to add to that number.
How You Can Help:
What to make: Chemo caps, lap quilts, or afghans.
Methods: Items can be sewn, crocheted, or knitted.
Options: You can choose to simply donate your items or enter them into the NC Mountain State Fair for competition.
Distribution: All items will be distributed locally to patients by the Messino Cancer Center.
Whether you are an expert knitter, a passionate quilter, or a beginner looking for a meaningful project, your contribution will bring warmth and comfort to someone in need.

Celebrate with Haywood Pathways Center!
We are thrilled to share an invitation from the Haywood Pathways Center for an evening of food, fellowship, and gratitude. To honor their faithful volunteers, celebrate their 12th anniversary, and mark the exciting relaunch of The Holy Cow Food Truck, they are hosting a special appreciation event. If you have volunteered or simply want to support this wonderful ministry, you are warmly invited to attend.

Location: Allens Creek Park Pavilion (1725 Allens Creek Rd., Waynesville, NC)
Highlights: Free food from The Holy Cow Food Truck and live music by the Cider Ridge Band.

REDBOX Donations needed for WMU!
Every year, FBC supports the REDBOX program for women inmates in our state’s prison system. This year, we are tasked with bringing individually packaged full-size toothbrushes (no multipacks, please.) We will be collecting these through October, and you can return them to the Red bucket by the fireplace outside the sanctuary.
North Carolina Missions Offering
Our NC Missions Offering this year will be given directly to Baptists on Mission for their untiring efforts in helping WNC after Helene. Please see Tom Smith for more information. This offering will be accepted from now until the end of September.
